In the Beginning....

In 1961, the church leadership became aware of a need in the Austin community for a Christian preschool. In September of 1962, First Presbyterian Day School opened its doors for the first time. The Day School is  an integral part of the lives of  Northwest Austin preschool-aged children and their families. Not only are we preparing our students for elementary school, but we are giving them a foundation of love and acceptance that will guide them throughout their lives.

Mission Statement

The mission of First Presbyterian Day School is to give children, parents, and staff the opportunity to experience the transforming love of Jesus Christ by a developmentally appropriate early childhood program. Our staff is dedicated to fostering an accepting atmosphere where children may take each developmental step at the appropriate time. We believe that by being immersed in a nurturing environment, with dedicated, caring and interested adults, children will develop needed skills and attitudes. Our aim is to provide a program in a Christian setting which helps young children grow spiritually, emotionally, physically, socially, and intellectually. The staff of First Presbyterian Day School is invested in providing quality experiences and graciously gives of themselves far and above the demands of the classroom.
