Wonder

Learning comes from doing.

Play with a purpose!

Our Goal

We want to help children develop habits of observation, questioning, listening, and expressing feelings in constructive ways. A child learns there is freedom to make choices and, that within the limits of consideration for people and things, conformity is not always necessary.

Our Programs

We offer developmentally appropriate half-day programs from 9 am to 1 pm to children ages 18 months through five years of age. Wait list applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. First Presbyterian Day School admits students of any race, color, religion, nationality, and ethnic origin. We do not discriminate in our administration, educational policies, employment policies, admissions policies or tuition policies.

LICENSED BY THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY AND PROTECTIVE SERVICES.

Classes

We offer a play-based curriculum that focuses on the process of learning, not the product. Theme-based activities and centers such as a sensory area, a block area, a dramatic play area, and a reading nook allow children to learn through hands-on activities and social engagement, not through worksheets and drills. Our classes are grouped by ages: Toddler I and II, Three's, and Pre-K.

Chapel

Each week children pray, sing, and hear bible stories in Chapel. Through a storytelling curriculum, we expose children to foundational stories of scripture and to religious language, and also encourages them to wonder about God's world and to discover how they are a part of God's ongoing story.

After School

Children (ages 3 and older) can attend our Stay N Play after regular classes. Popular and exciting enrichment opportunities are also offered at FPDS directly after school. These programs are offered by independent businesses and are separate from Day School programming.

Testimonies

"All three of our boys have attended FPDS and I can't imagine sending them anywhere else. Each child has been loved and celebrated for his individuality, challenged to develop to his full potential, and left more than prepared for the transition to Kindergarten. The teachers, staff, and parent community have been like a second family to us."

"Adorable school! May daughters have LOVED it. Play-based. All the teachers are very creative and loving."

Bridget

"FPDS has been the most caring and creative environment for our three girls. The teachers and staff truly become extended family and are women my girls adore and aspire to be like - there is little more you can ask for in a preschool! As parents, we have been thrilled to see the passion for learning our kids develop at FPDS and the curiosity (and fun facts!) they come home with after every school day. The friendships and lessons learned at FPDS will last a lifetime, and we could not be more grateful."
